How to start a channel on youtube and grow? Everything you need to know…

If you have a google account / gmail, then you already have a YouTube channel. When you create gmail id, google automatically provides access to their apps such as sheets, docs, calendar, photos, YouTube, play store and many more services. To manage your YouTube channel google provide a service called YouTube studio, from this you can manage your channel and change the channel name you like. This is how you start a channel on YouTube.

What are the skills required?

One thing is very important, which is creating consistent videos. You can do what ever the video you want, until and unless people watch it you will not stay for the long run.

This is a long term process. Start with the concept you like the most like vlogging, comedy, animation, teaching/tutorials, music, art, food and many more.

Your face does not necessarily need to be visible. There are many YouTube channels where they are introvert and not show their face but still they have millions of followers.

Start Work on your channel

– Millions of people come to YouTube to watch and create videos. Here is the site which explains about how this all works and the policies there.

– You should start with any specific content and start creating videos about it. You many not really have good setup, but start creating content.

– There is no rule that you need to show your face on the camera, there are many videos where there is no face appearing. For example channels like ‘KjraGaming’ has cartoons and kids animation of gaming etc… has 8+ million subscribers.

– There are many YouTubers who has started creating videos by their mobile when they started and now have millions of subscribers because the quality of the content improved over time.

– Anyone who has a mobile in their hands can create YouTube channel, the point is do you have interest to work on the channel and continue to grow.

– There is nothing in the world is difficult to achieve, if you are having a strong will you can achieve anything in the world.

– Have a faith in yourself and start working on it. You may not see the results in first few months or may be a couple of years, but still you continue creating content. This is how people become successful…

Choose Niche content

– Pick any topic you would like to play for the long term. Niche is something which is very specific, there is a group of people who look for specific things. Most people search for the specific solution rather than the general solution.

– Best way to engage to your audience is you make the content which they like the most. Learn to know the audience pulse by likes, views and comments.

– If you take any channel which has millions of followers they upload videos consistently and have more engagement with followers. For example, MrBeast is one of the most known channel. If you watch his old videos he did not have many views for 2 years, then by experimenting he came to specific audience and it made him grow exponentially.

– Always try to improve the video from the previous video. Try Experimenting, If audience likes your content then continue doing the similar content by improving from previous video.

– You need to help people by their needs. Some people want to buy something online, they watch product review’s and some people preparing for some exam or interview they watch tutorials. So whatever the specific topic you choose there are certain people looking for it.

– To get the reach, create the channel description as elaborate as you can and try to have text on the thumbnail and go to social media sites quora and answer the questions related to your video and redirect them to your video. This way you can increase some reach for free.

Monetize

After you reach at least 4000 watch hours and minimum 1000 subscribers with in a span of one year, then you are eligible to Monetization.

This is where your money starts to flow. There are many ways to do this –

money image

  • By displaying ads on the video you upload
  • By providing affiliate links in the description
  • By promoting or marketing the products where the sponsors come to you
  • By super chats, when you do live video people support you in the super chat where approx 70% of the amount will be deposited in the bank account
  • By the channel join button, subscribers pay certain amount to support and they get some exclusive content for it.

Do you know how much YouTube pays for one video?
Simple answer is, “It Depends”.

– it depends on the number of advertisements displayed

– it depends on whether ‘the advertisement is skipped’ or ‘watched the entire advertisement’ or ‘clicked on the advertisement’.

– whatever the money it makes, YouTube takes 40 percent cut and the content creator gets remaining 60 percent and this is same for the super chat as well. This means if YouTube generates 100 bucks, YouTuber gets 60 bucks from that.

As per my knowledge, this is how YouTube generates money to its creators.

You may see similar number of views for two videos but the money you get from it may completely different

Small trick but not recommended – If you click on reload button at the end of the video, it plays without displaying any ads. You can skip the video and play last 2-3 seconds then you see reload button. I don’t recommend this because your favorite creator gets does not get monetized if there are no ads. If you want to show support, Please watch without skipping to the end.

Conclusion

Start your channel even if you don’t have proper setup, you can improve as time goes by. Focus on habits you make every day and give at least 1 hour to create content.

I want to tell you that if you would like to become a YouTuber then you need to work consistently, this is really important. You should follow a daily habit, here I am not mentioning to focus on your goal because If you focus on the process then you will reach your goals automatically. Reaching a goal is the result of following a process, your habit is the process and goal is the result.

  1. I am an online blogger for the last 5 years and now I want to start my youtube journey. I think that both professions have many things in common. I have a niche in mind in which I have a great interest. I will maintain a good frequency for my videos and try to improve my content just like I do on my blogging websites and hope people will appreciate and enjoy it. Thank you for the informative article.
